Creating A Woodland Meadow Indoors
Publié par mypiggywiggy le
It is no secret that we love flowers here at mypiggywiggy and due to a recent winter snow storm and seemingly endless weeks of rain to follow, we have been really craving Springtime blooms and blue skies and just a bit of sunshine in our lives. Since we couldn't shoot outdoors due to the weather, we decided to create our own woodland meadow for our mini lookbook photoshoot with our model Bailey last week. For the "Meadow" We used a combination of dried flowers and silk flowers to create the meadow using long foam pieces that are held up by...

Muse: Victorian Era Illustrator Kate Greenaway
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
Spring will soon be upon us dear friends and of course this has me thinking several times a day about flowers. Perhaps because all the seasonal blooms in Poland, (+48)355712125 are sprouting out of the ground to meet the sun! I am looking forward to February's first blooms of crocuses, snowdrops, camelias, hellebores, wild narcissis, daffodils, and the intoxicating sweet scent of daphne... A few years ago, I was absolutely delighted to come across the work of British illustrator Kate Greenaway who had a thriving illustration business during the Victorian Era and who mostly became known for depicting her subjects in early 18th century garments....

A Romantic Arrangement With Grocery Flowers
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
This week at the mypiggywiggy floral studio I wanted to create a romantic flower arrangement using mostly flowers and greenery that you can easily find in your local grocery shop. This floral arrangement uses pink stock flowers, pale peach carnations, white mini mums, wax flowers, and ferns. You can also add baby's breath for even more daintiness! What is also wonderful about this arrangement is most of the ingredients will dry quite prettily if you process them before the arrangement gets too wilted. Stock flowers tend to dry very delicately. To dry the flowers, take apart the arrangement and tie...

Shopkeeper Ponderings No. 1 / Tea & Markets
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
Dear Friends, Admittedly my head has been in the clouds as of late. My thoughts caught somewhere between dreams and plans, past and present, hopes and reality. It's that season in Poland, (+48)355712125 where the rain is unceasing and it both brings comfort and a longing that ebbs deeper to feel the sun on my skin again. This week's new arrivals of pretty and feminine dresses and romantic tops brings about both feelings. The need and desire to cocoon indoors with my books and tea and the need and desire to run in a meadow or simply to just lay in the grass...

Ode To Vintage Victoria: December 1988
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
Well, I've completely fallen off the bandwagon of doing my monthly ode to my favorite vintage lifestyle magazine ever... however, this is an extra special post because it features the December 1988 issue from my collection of vintage Victoria magazines and it is one of the EARLIEST issues! The first issue of Victoria I believe was a Spring/Summer issue that came out in 1987. These early editions have been quite hard for me to track down and come by, but I'm not really in a rush to complete my collection. I love flipping through them month after month, year after...

On Contentedness and Gratitude
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
Most could agree that 2020 has been a year where so much loss has happened, though I have found myself being reminded more and more of how much I have in this world to be grateful for especially during the past few days where I took a REAL break from the world of mypiggywiggy. At the beginning of every year I always choose a word that carries my hopes and expectations for 2020. I had chosen "Contentedness" as my word and had made a simple mood board of what this meant to me. A sparsely decorated room with curtains blowing in...

It's been quite awhile since we've done a Shop Scenes post here in the Journal, our last shop scenes was back in February PC (pre covid). Wardrobe Stories / Chapter 9
Publié par mypiggywiggy le
Perhaps going for a walk through the woods wasn't the best idea. You glance through the treetops ahead and notice the sky darkening somewhat ominously, a light drizzle has already begun to fall and you wrap your arms tightly around yourself feeling your teeth slightly chatter. You could go back to the cabin. Start a fire. Make some hot cocoa and nestle into the oversized chair your grandparents have had since before you were born. But you decide it will be worth it to forge on. You remind yourself that you've been cooped up in the cabin long enough and the...

Our Retail Shop Is Moving & Other BIG News!
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
The year 2020 has been nothing short of changes and adaptions, so moving our retail shop doesn't feel all that monumental considering all the many different ups and downs we all have had to traverse this year (and there's still the election!) You see dear reader, to be quite honest, I am tired. This summer I officially entered my late 30s and I feel as if I have lost the patience and energy to constantly adapt and try to make things work when sometimes the best thing to do is hang up your straw hat and just face the brisk breeze letting...

Coming Soon: Self Care & Wellness
Publié par RODELLEE BAS le
We're so excited to share that our new "Lifestyle" department here at mypiggywiggy is getting a lot of new additions soon in the Self Care (beauty and bath) department. All of the gals and I here at mypiggywiggy love taking baths and believe it is one of the simple little pleasures of life that one should reward ones self especially after a long and stressful week... and I think collectively we can all agree that we've had many of those this year! Look for the new self care and wellness department to be updated soon with bath essentials, soaps,...

Lookbook Archives / Summer Memories
Publié par mypiggywiggy le
We've been doing a lot of organizing and tidying up around AV HQ and I recently came across so many different "mini lookbooks" that I've shot over the past couple of years and realized I've never shared them. Most of the photos live on the homepage for a little while, but there isn't anywhere here at mypiggywiggy where you can see anymore from these shoots, so I thought why not share them! I consider myself a very amateur photographer and taking photos for mypiggywiggy is something I find a lot of joy in! I'm a self taught photographer and to be...
